The refurbishment / demolition survey is required where the premises, or part of it, need upgrading, refurbishment or demolition.
A Refurbishment / demolition survey aims to ensure that:
- All asbestos within the building is identified, prior to works starting so nobody will be harmed by accidental damage to the material.
- That all asbestos materials that will be disturbed by the works are removed by licensed asbestos removal contractors.
The survey must be carried out on all areas of the building affected by the proposed work and involves destructive inspection.
